The Obstetric Ultrasound – Why It’s Important for You and Your Baby
When we opened in November of 2004 in our first New Jersey location, we focused on elective 3D/4D ultrasounds. However, we found that in some cases, women were choosing not to have diagnostic scans or medical ultrasounds performed by their physician because of cost. Even families with insurance found co-pays to be cost prohibitive. Since obstetric ultrasounds are so important to the health of both mom and baby, we began offering both medical ultrasounds and diagnostic scans – performed by our registered sonographers – at affordable prices. For an additional $50 a medical report will be emailed directly to you. You will then bring it to your next OB appointment.
Let’s look at some reasons why you should consider having an obstetric ultrasound performed:
Confirm Pregnancy and Age of Fetus
Our registered sonographer can confirm if you are pregnant and determine the age of your fetus. This is important information for you to provide to your physician. We will also record your baby’s size and current heart rate during your obstetric ultrasound.
Identify Potential Health Issues Early
The earlier a potential health problem is identified, the better chance there is of treating it. Our registered sonographer performs diagnostic scans to measure amniotic fluid volume, survey the fetal anatomy and perform a biophysical profile of your baby.
View Fetal Position
The position of the fetus is very important. Generally conducted after the 36-week point, we can perform an obstetric ultrasound to determine if your baby is vertex (head down) or breech (head up).
If you have no insurance, or, if your co-pay is high, consider having on of our registered sonographers perform your obstetric ultrasound and diagnostic scans. Contact View A Miracle today to schedule your medical ultrasound at our convenient New Jersey location.
